Angels don’t worry about you.The following poem says it all:

Angels don’t worry about you.

They believe in you!

People sometimes ask me if I believe in angels. And yes, I certainly do!

Sometimes they show themselves, sometimes a little white feather comes to you as an angel’s kiss, always leaving you with a warm feeling. Sometimes angel’s answers come through a song other times it is your best friend who starts to talk about something which is worrying you and at other times it is just the lady in front of you in the queue of the supermarket, who makes a comment.

Where to look for angels? How to recognise them?

The following poem says it all:

What do Angels look like?

Like the little old lady who returned

Your wallet yesterday.

Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes

Light up the world when you smile.

Like the small child who showed you

The wonder in simple things.

Like the poor man who offered to

Share his lunch with you.

Like the rich man who showed you that it

Really is all possible, if only you believe.

Like the stranger who just happened to come along

When you had lost your way.

Like the friend who touched your heart

When you didn’t think you had one to touch.

Angels come in all sizes and shapes,

All ages and skin types and colours.

Some with freckles, some with dimples,

Some with wrinkles, some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies,

Nurses, teachers, students, lovers and fools.

They don’t take life too seriously.

They travel light.
They leave no forwarding address.

They ask nothing in return.

They wear sneakers with gossamer wings.

They get a deal on dry cleaning.

They are hard to find when your eyes are closed,
But they are everywhere you look,

When you choose to open your eyes and see.

Earth Angels come in all colour sizes and ages. They do not always arrive with a blast of trumpets, feathered wings or a blinding light, but they are angels just the same.

Some mysteriously disappear, others whisper through the door ways of our minds. When this happens we suddenly feel the need to call someone, or do something. We might not always be aware that angels are guiding us, but anyone who raises your spirits and helps you to grow or love is an angel.

The Child Within sends you love and light to open your eyes to the angels around you, guiding you through your life, those heavenly messengers are a direct link to our heart and a shortcut to living our true purpose. Dare to listen to their whispers!

Vision is, I think, the ability to make good estimates

Vision is, I think, the ability to make good estimates. Some might feel this sort of striving to be heresy against "One Day At A Time". But that valuable principle really refers to our mental and emotional lives, and means chiefly that we are not foolishly to repine over the past nor wishfully daydream about the future.

Let Us, Therefore, Live But One Day At A Time

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is YESTERDAY with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY, We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. YESTERDAY is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance. TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control.

TOMORROW'S sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW, for it is as yet unborn.
This leaves only one day - TODAY. Any man can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - YESTERDAY and TOMORROW that we break down
It is not the experience of TODAY that drives men mad - it is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY and the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.

Let Us, Therefore, Live But One Day At A Time

When life becomes a challenge, and each day becomes a chore I am here for you,

Together We Are Strong

When life becomes a challenge, and each day becomes a chore

Remember I am here for you, Like eagles we shall soar.

An uphill battle every day, sometimes is how it seems

Our hopes are often shattered, out of reach our simple dreams

Just watch an eagle as he flies, straight and strong into the wind

So take my hand, hold on to me, We'll do the same my friend.
The current shall not beat us, for together we are strong,

Like eagles coasting on the wind, this battle won't take long.

Gentle Wishes for You

May the warm winds of Heaven

Blow softly upon your house

May the Great Spirit

Bless all those who enter there

May your moccasins

Make happy tracks

In many snows

And may the rainbow

Always touch your shoulder

Native American Serenity Prayer

Oh Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds

and whose breath gives life to all the world

Hear me

I come before you, one of your children

I am small and weak,

I need your strength and wisdom

Let me walk in beauty and

make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made

my ears sharp to hear your voice

Make me wise, so that I may know

the things you have taught my People

the lesson you have hidden in every leaf and rock

I seek strength, not to be superior to my brothers

but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself

Make me ever ready to come to you

with clean hands and straight eyes,

so when life fades as a fading sunset

My Spirit may come to you without shame.

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy

‘ The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty’

You use spirituality as your drug,

You can experience this pain as a longing for God, putting that God

outside of yourself and giving him/her responsibility for your life.

You use spirituality as your drug, as an avoidance, to deny your

feelings, your reality. You can space out on it.

Persons and societies do not submit passively to surroundings and events.

Persons and societies do not submit passively to surroundings and events. They make choices as to the places where they live and the activities in which they engage -- choices based on what they want to be, to do and to become. Furthermore, persons and societies often change their goals and ways; they can even retrace their steps and start in a new direction if they believe they are on a wrong course. Thus, whereas animal life is prisoner of biological evolution which is essentially irreversible, human life has the wonderful freedom of social evolution which is rapidly reversible and creative. Wherever human beings are concerned, trend is not destiny

I like thinking of possibilities. At any time, an entirely new possibility is liable to come along and spin you off in an entirely new direction. The trick, I've learned, is to be awake to the moment

Employ the power of positive quitting

Employ the power of positive quitting. Most of us view quitting as something negative, but it’s not. ‘Winners never quit,’ we’re told, when, in reality, winners quit all the time: choosing to stop doing things that aren’t creating the results they desire. When you quit all the things that aren’t working for you, when you quit tolerating all the negative things that hold you back, you’ll create a positive ‘charge’ in your life as well as create the space in your life for more positive experiences

Saint Theresa Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be..

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God..

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing,

Dance, praise and love.

Kahlil Gibran, a Lebanese artist, philosopher and writer wrote ‘The Prophet’, 26 poetic essays in English in 1923.
Its main character is a prophet called Almustafa, inspired in the real person of Abdu’l-BahĆ” (1844-1921), the second leader of the Baha’i Faith.Almustafa he has been living in the foreign city of Orphalese, waiting for a boat to come to take him home, for 12 years when we meet him.Half way the first page the boat arrives and he is filled with joy and sadness at the same time. Sadness to say goodbye to these people, who have become his friends.

The feelings are mutual, a group of citizens asks him to stay. “Won’t he answer first some more questions?” He stays and tells them about love, joy and sadness, about work, passion, pain and death, etc. Then he leaves for his homeland, (- a metaphor for death.) with the promise to come back: “A little while, and my longing shall gather dust and foam for another new body.We all have so many questions and doubts.

How great to sit with someone who is willing to share his or her knowledge?! We all can share our truth, but what is ‘The Truth’? Does ‘The Truth’ exist? Some people will say something which rings a bell within and it will help you to understand. Sometimes however it doesn’t, that’s ok, than it wasn’t for us.Keep what feels right and ‘delete’ the rest. Keep your own criteria, follow the voice of your heart, no-one else’s.

Don’t except anything without ‘weighing’ it.Ashiana sends you love and light to with discriminative discernment find your truth which brings you Peace, our ultimate goal.

"It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question."
What do you want ?

DiƔlogo de sordos

There is no peace without forgiveness. Attack thoughts towards others are attack thoughts towards ourselves. The first step in forgiveness is the willingness to forgive.Of course things don’t always happen the way we wish they would. There are moments in which we feel we are seeking something that is not meant for us, knocking on doors that don’t open, waiting for miracles that don’t manifest themselves.

But the true warrior of light believes.

Because they believe in miracles, the miracles begin to happen.

Because they are certain that their thoughts can change their lives, their lives begin to change.

Because they are certain they will find love, this love appears.

Sometimes they are disappointed. Sometimes they feel hurt.

Then they hear the comments, “you are so naĆÆve!”

But the warrior knows it is worth the price.

To each defeat, there are two conquests in his favor.

In an interesting and diminutive book called “The Breviary of Medieval Knights,” there are some passages that have to be remembered in these moments of waiting:

"The Path’s spiritual energy uses justice and patience to prepare your spirit.”

“This is the Knight’s Path. An easy and hard path at the same time, as it urges us to let aside useless things and relative friendships. That is why, at the beginning, we hesitate so much to follow it.”

"This is a Knight's first teaching: you will erase everything you wrote up to now on your life’s notebook: turmoil, insecurities, lies. And in place of all that, you will write the word courage. Beginning the journey with this word and going on with faith in God, you will arrive where you need to arrive.”

Even so, sometimes we keep on waiting - with patience, resignation, courage - and still, things around us don’t move. But since this is the path we chose, it seems impossible that life’s blessings are not working in our favor. It provokes, therefore, a deep reflection about what we call "results:" our destiny is manifesting itself in a way we are not able to fully comprehend . Jorge LuĆs Borges wrote a masterly short story about this issue.

He describes the birth of a tiger that spends great part of its life in the African wildness but ends up being captured and taken to a zoo in Italy. From then on, the animal thinks his life has lost sense and there is nothing left to do but wait for the day he dies.

One fine day, poet Dante Alighieri passes by this zoo, looks at the tiger, and the animal inspires a verse – in the midst of thousands of verses – of "The Divine Comedy."

"The entire battle for survival that tiger went through was only so that it could be at the zoo on that morning and inspire an immortal verse,” says Borges.

Just like this tiger, we all have a reason – a very important reason – to be here, at this moment, this morning.

So relax. And pay attention.

The following exercise will help you explore what you truly want and choose the area of your life that you’d most like to transform or enhance.

In the first few days of 2010, you may be feeling energized and ready to embark on new challenges – yet at the same time you may be unsure about how to get started and where to focus your attention.

Step 1: Your Heart’s Desires

Consider the following aspects of your life and write down everything that you’d like to experience or create in each area. Writing (or sketching, listing, or otherwise putting your thoughts into form) is a powerful first step in clarifying what you really want.

Be as specific as possible and don’t limit yourself. What do you really, really want? Let go of any thoughts of what you “should” want. Your heart knows your deepest desires, so give yourself some time to meditate, become still, and connect to the authentic voice of your true Self.

Financial Abundance

What do you want on the material level? Your own house with a garden? Write that down. Do you want to pay off a loan or take a vacation? Also consider your desires for sensory gratification – sound, touch, sight, taste, and smell.

Relationships

Write down all your desires for your relationships – with your spouse, partner, friends, children, parents, co-workers, and yourself. Do you want to finally let go of old emotional pain and forgive others and yourself for things that happened in the past? Are you ready to open your heart to a new romantic relationship? Would you like to create a more loving relationship with your spouse?

Spiritual Awakening

What would nourish your heart and soul? Do want to go on a meditation retreat? Start a journaling practice? Learn yoga or tai chi? Write down the spiritual intentions you have for yourself.

Work and Career

How would you like to grow and expand in your work this year? Is there a new skill you want to learn? Are you looking for a new job or thinking about transitioning to a different career? Are you ready to find a mentor or life coach?

Adventure and Fun

Making time for fun and pleasure in our daily lives is not a luxury but a vital life force that keeps us joyful and enthusiastic. Consider what kinds of adventure and fun you would like to have in your life? Is there something you’ve always secretly wanted to try, such as scuba diving, African dance, or a solo trip across the country? Write down all your ideas.

Personal Goals

What areas of your life would you like to nurture this year? Do you want a new intellectual challenge such as studying a language or learning new software? Would you like more time to play or develop a hobby?

Community

What do you want to contribute to your neighborhood, country, or the world? Consider how you might use your unique talents to serve others.

Health

What are your health goals? Do you want to learn to meditate? Exercise regularly? Get more sleep? Attain a healthy weight? Are you ready to let go of emotional pain from the past? Write down everything you desire for your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Step 2: Decide What’s Most Important

Now that you have a clear idea of what you’d like to see unfold in your life, it’s time to choose the one or two desires, dreams, or goals that you want to focus on first.

Maybe your top priorities right now are to take care of your health and focus on your relationship with a spouse or partner. Or perhaps you realize that what you really want most right now is a feeling of connection . . . to nurture your friendships and be part of a supportive community.

Choose two goals, knowing that doing so doesn’t mean that you have to give up all your other desires. They will be there waiting for you to cultivate once you have fulfilled your current most important desires. Focusing your intentions creates a ripple effect, and you may find that your other desires are spontaneously filled

Step 3: Commit to Action

Now consider one step you can take today that will move you closer to your desired outcome. The action can be as small as doing a web search to find classes in your area, buying a journal, or doing ten minutes of yoga. Then tomorrow, take one more step. By committing to regular, consistent action, you will tap into an unexpected momentum and discover the universe conspiring in your favor.

Inner Peace

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can get going without pep pills,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,

If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,

If you can relax without liquor,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

...Then You Are Probably The Family Dog!

And you thought I was going to get all spiritual with this, huh?!

The Warrior of Light and his world

The Warrior of Light is always trying to improve.

Each blow of his sword carries with it centuries of wisdom and meditation. Each blow has to have the force and the skill of all the warriors of the past, who still continue to bless the combat. Each movement of the fight honors the movements that previous generations have tried to transmit through tradition.

The Warrior of Light enhances the beauty of his blows. Although he behaves like a child.

People are shocked, because they forget that children need to enjoy themselves, play, be a little irreverent, ask inconvenient and immature questions, say silly things.

And they ask, horrified: "And this is the spiritual path? He isn’t even mature!”

The warrior feels proud at that comment. He keeps in contact with God through his innocence and joy, and acts in this way because at the beginning of his fight he affirms to himself:

“I have dreams.”

After some years he realizes that it is possible to reach where he wants to go. He knows that he will be rewarded.

At that moment the great joy that filled his heart disappears. Because on his travels he has discovered the unhappiness of others, the loneliness and frustrations that afflict so many people. The Warrior of Light then feels that he does not deserve what he is to receive.

When he learns to handle his sword, he discovers that his equipment has to be complete – and that includes armor.

He goes out to look for armor and hears what some vendors propose to him.

"Wear the breast-plate of solitude," says one.

"Wear the shield of cynicism," answers another.

"The best armor is not to get involved in anything," suggests a third.

The warrior, however, does not listen to them. He goes serenely to his sacred place and dons the indestructible cloak of faith.

Faith softens all blows. Faith changes poison into crystal-clear water.

His angel whispers to him: "Yield everything." The warrior kneels down and offers his victories to God.

This deliverance obliges the warrior to stop asking silly questions and helps him to overcome his feeling of guilt.

And if, even so, he still feels unworthy of his reward, a Warrior of Light always has a second chance in life.

Like all other men and women, he was not born knowing how to handle his sword. He makes many a mistake before discovering his Personal Legend.

No man or woman can sit down in front of the fire and tell the others: "I have always acted properly." Those who claim this are lying and have not yet learned to know themselves. The true Warrior of Light has already committed injustice in the past.

But during his journeys he realizes that the people to whom he has acted unjustly always cross his path again.

That is why the Warrior of Light has the impression of living two lives at the same time. In one of them he is obliged to do everything that he does not want to do, fighting for ideas that he does not believe in. But there is another life, one that he discovers in his dreams, readings, and meeting people who think like he does.

The warrior lets both lives draw close to one another.

"There is a bridge that connects what I do with what I would like to do," he thinks. Little by little his dreams take over his routine, until he realizes that he is ready for what he has always wanted.

So, a little bit of daring is enough to transform the two lives into just one.

This is his chance to undo the bad that he caused. A chance that he always seizes without any hesitation.

Happy 2010!

Nevertheless,

Being still inexperienced and having just made conscious contact with God,

it is not probable that we are going to be inspired at all times. We might pay

for this presumption in all sorts of absurd actions and ideas. Nevertheless,

we find that our thinking will, as time passes, be more and more on the

plane of inspiration. We come to rely upon it.

In the words of Charlie Brooker:

"In the face of love's potential destructive fury, you're left with three options. 1) Pull down the emotional shutters and try to avoid it. 2) Find someone you admire or like, rather than love, and try to make do, rendering both of you miserable in the process. Or 3) Throw caution to the wind and gingerly place your fragile, beating heart in the hands of another human being and hope they don't crush it in their fist for giggles.

If you wish to draw near to God, you must seek God in the hearts of others.

If you wish to draw near to God, you must seek God in the hearts of others. You should speak well of all, whether present or absent. If you seek to be a light to guide others, then, like the sun, you must show the same face to all. To bring joy to a single heart is better than to build many shrines for worship, and to enslave one soul by kindness is worth more than the setting free of a thousand slaves.
